According to USAID Wildlife Asia’s 2018 consumer research in Thailand, monks are major influencers of these beliefs. Engaging these spiritual leaders to publicly champion campaigns and amplify messaging against consumption of wildlife products will help counter these beliefs, reduce consumption, and protect endangered animals
