Partnership meeting to discuss counter wildlife trafficking in China
Implemented in Southeast Asian countries and China, USAID Wildlife Asia organized a Counter Wildlife Trafficking China Partnership Meeting on May 31-June 1, 2017, in Beijing.
Over 70 representatives from embassies, local and international NGOs, private sector and media attended the meeting and exchanged their expertise and experience to promote cross-function and industry understanding and approaches to Counter Wildlife Trafficking in China. Through presentations and panel discussions, participants expressed diverse opinions and ideas to combat wildlife crime, for instance, speaking for wildlife, building alliance with media, changing corporate and consumer behavior including families, using pop culture to reach out and change social norm. Representatives from USAID RDMA, led by Alfred Nakatsuma, Director of Regional Environment Office participated in the event to meet partners.
